Bill

Bill holds an A.A.S. in Physical Therapy and has been licensed as a PTA since 1993.

While serving in The United States Air Force, he won the Physical Therapist Assistant of the Year Award three consecutive years. He was awarded PTA Advanced Proficiency in Musculoskeletal in 2007.  Bill is driven by his desire for people to get stronger so that they can be involved with all the activities they enjoy.  He has worked with a local High School for their yearly preventative health care screening day.  He has taught prenatal and postpartum exercise classes along with a back school that taught how to prevent back injuries.  Bill has volunteered with the Special Olympics as a power lifting coach.  He worked with the performing artist presenting the Nutcracker Ballet at Christmas for five consecutive years.  Bill is a member of the APTA and is the past Alaska Chapter PTA Representative to the PTA Caucus, ACSM member and past Alaska Chapter President and past board member, and member of the NSCA.  He has completed several mini-triathlons, the Beaver Sport Triathlon and the Equinox Marathon. Most of all he loves to train with weights.

Bill has worked in orthopedics /sportsmedicine  for most of his Physical Therapy career. His knowledge of injury and rehabilitation and his sharp eye for movement make him the perfect partner for anyone who is re-entering activity after injury or inactivity.

Bill’s passion is teaching movement and performance and it is his hope to introduce CrossFit to everyone who seeks an improved level of strength and fitness.  Bill says, “For me, fitness is about longevity.”  He loves the physical and mental challenge of CrossFit, and have been surprised and thrilled at what his own body has been able to do.

Began CF on his own starting in 2005.

Favorite CrossFit quote: “Being weak is a choice. GET STRONG.”

Least favorite excuse (most likely to get you smacked): “I’m not strong enough to do Crossfit.”

Schedule a few times a week. If we invest the energy and time, it has the power to make many other facets of our lives incrementally better as well. At some point, we’ve all experienced it with working out: the harder we work and more consistent we are, the more we want to clean up other areas of our life too. For many of us, whether we are competitive by nature or avoid it like the plague, training with others who are working towards similar goals builds that fire within us…AND makes the whole trip a lot more fun. One of Bill’s main goals in training clients is always the same; to let people leave all of their ‘baggage’ at the door and empower them to surprise themselves with what they are actually physically capable of.

Each workout provides us with an opportunity to grow, in body and mind. It is a daily reminder of the pursuit of excellence, teaching us courage, commitment, and the will to succeed.

“The difference between a successful person & others is not the lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” -Vince Lombardi

Jacqueline played many sports growing up and swam competitively the majority of her life.  Once college ended and the real world began, she tried to continue working out by running and going to the gym.  Thisgrew quite boring and monotonous, so she searched for a new alternative.
In January 2008, she received 10 Crossfit sessions as a Christmas gift from her husband.  Most people would take this as an insult, but she was intrigued by the description he gave her of the program. She researched the main site, watched many videos, and decided to start right away.  Although she could not walk straight after the first class, she was instantly hooked and wanted to come back for more.  She found that Crossfit was the answer to her questions.  She loved the fact that each day was a different workout, with new challenges to face and goals to accomplish. She looks forward to coming home from teaching and entering the Crossfit community each day. The camaraderie, intensity, and various workouts Crossfit provides are indescribable.
