One last comment to those who love Keith and Rachel, but hate MSNBC: please don’t give those on the right something to cheer about. At the moment the only cable news network up against the monolithic Fox News is MSNBC, with all its imperfections. Those on the right who hated Olbermann and Maddow and everyone else over on MSNBC would love nothing more than to see MSNBC collapse in the ratings. The only major cable news network Democrats and Independents have as MSNBC. Lose that and people like Maddow, O’Donnell, Ed Schultz, etc., will be drowned out by Hannity, Beck, O’Reilly, Palin, etc. In short, FoxNews and its supporters win. That could translate in a win for the Republicans in the House, Senate and White House in 2012. Don’t underestimate the power of FoxNews machine. And having said that, at the moment I’m actually feeling, for the first time, some anger (perhaps misdirected) at Olbermann for giving them this little victory; I wish he could have stuck it out through the 2012 election.
